Designing with natural materials
Turning the value of natural materials and craftsmanship into a viable business.
Creative direction, material strategy, and production design for brands rooted in natural materials.
LEA80 works with natural materials such as linen and with the techniques and histories of craftsmanship passed down across regions. We approach product planning, production, and market delivery as one continuous process. Grounded in a Japanese sensibility, we assess the value of materials and shape brands in ways that preserve their distinctiveness while allowing product and business to stand together naturally.

What LEA80 Does
1 Production Design and Optimization
Taking into account the background of materials, technical possibilities, and the conditions of makers, we clarify the direction of the brand and the thinking behind the product.
2 Production Design and Optimization
By assessing materials, technique, speed, sustainability, and expressive quality, we connect concepts to production systems that can realistically bring them to life.
3 Building a Business Structure That Reaches the Market
Including points of contact with retail and buyers, we shape brands in ways that preserve their distinctiveness while making them sustainable as businesses.
For Brands and Projects That
- want to clarify their direction through natural materials and craftsmanship
- need to bridge the gap between concept and production
- seek to balance brand integrity with business viability in domestic and international markets
- need an integrated approach across product, material, production, and retail
Creative Director Satoshi Ishii leads the direction and overall structure of LEA80.
